About Us

Where We Started

Atriums Events was founded by Michael Bettencourt — a natural networker, community advocate, and proud Pawtucket native. From an early age, Mike had a vision: to own a business rooted in his hometown that brought people together. Inspired by the vibrant community that raised him, he set out to create a space where connection, celebration, and culture could thrive.

Atriums Events is proudly family-owned and operated. From day one, Mike's wife Becca and their two kids — Brendan, the older brother, and Jaiden, the youngest — worked side by side with him to help bring the dream to life. Whether it was setting up events, handling behind-the-scenes logistics, or greeting guests at the door, every member of the family played a role in building the company. Today, they each remain actively involved in different areas of the business, keeping that same family spirit at the heart of everything Atriums does.

What We’re Doing

What began in a modest 1,500 sq. ft. event space quickly grew into something much bigger. With a passion for creating meaningful experiences and building community, Atriums Events has become a recognized name across Rhode Island. From intimate gatherings to large-scale productions, the company is known for its innovative approach and inclusive energy.

Atriums has proudly hosted a wide range of public and private events — from weddings, reunions, and birthday parties to comedy shows, art competitions, and city networking nights. One of its proudest achievements includes bringing Rhode Island its only Art Battle competition — a live, international painting showdown — to venues like Gillette Stadium. The company also made history by organizing Rhode Island’s first LGBTQ+ blood drive alongside RI Blood Center.

Why We’re Doing It

Mike’s dedication to community goes far beyond events. He serves on local Pawtucket boards and stays actively engaged in city development. Through collaborations with other mission-driven organizations like The Elisha Project Atrium continues to champion the small businesses and nonprofits that serve the community every day.

Whether at venues like Ladder 133, The Industrial Cafe, or Bally's Event Center, Atriums Events transforms spaces into unforgettable moments — always led by passion, purpose, and people.
